How do I go about getting a job as an Event Planner?

I would like to venture into the Event Planning business, Personal events as well as Business events. I have a Bachelor’s Degree is Business Administration with specialized honours in Marketing. I completed a certificate in Event Marketing, and am currently finishing up a certificate in Conference and Event Management. I want a job in the industry but I’m not sure how to move ahead from here. HELP !!
I know what I want to be. An Evenet Planner specifically for Corporate Events. I need to know the next step from there, since I have education but no experience.
Thanks JJ I think I’m going to try that out. I have looked for positings online on job site but they don’t seem like the kinda jobs I would get right off the bat. SO, I’m gonna try out your idea !

You are definitely qualified to get a job in the industry. Try seeing if there is an Event Planning company willing to hire you. If you want to work for yourself, try posting fliers around or give people your business card. However, I would suggest trying to work for a company first, establish yourself, then go on by yourself.
